Great Series to Consider

 

The cute baby animals on coins at the Perth Mint coin series is a set of beautiful issues.  In fact, baby animals have been found on coins for some time, and they keep coming.  In 2017 the Perth Mint released a five-coin series titles Polar Babies.  These are coins that depict some of the baby animals found in the polar regions.  Both the North Pole and the South Pole are included.

 

The Polar Babies follows the 2016 series called The Cubs.  This was another series of baby animals, those normally referred to as cubs.

 

These follow the three-coin series of Forest Babies from 2013.

Baby Animals from the Polar Regions

 

The Sea Otter coin is a silver coin showing a brown sea otter afloat on a chunk of ice.

 

The Harp Seal coin is a silver coin featuring a white harp seal with its black nose and eyes really standing out.  The seal is depicted on an ice field.

 

The Arctic Fox coin shows a brown fox sitting in an area with scant vegetation.

 

The Emperor Penguin coin shows a baby penguin adrift on a piece of ice.  The baby penguin is white with black facial markings.

 

The Polar Bear coin shows a baby polar bear in an icy area, with a lone piece of vegetation behind the bear.  The bear is white with a black nose and eyes.

Specifications

 

These are one-half ounce fine silver pieces.  They are minted with a proof finish.  The mintage is limited to five thousand pieces of each type.  They are currency for the island nation of Tuvalu, and have a fifty cent denomination.  Each of the  silver coins comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity, and in an attractive box.  Coins in this series are dated 2017.

Baby Animals in Pairs at Play

 

There is a five-coin series of fine silver coins titles The Cubs.

 

The Lynx depicts a pair of colorful lynx cubs at play.  The white Lion shows a pair of white lions.  The Snow Leopard coin is particularly stunning, with one of the cubs peering out with large, blue eyes.  The Jaguar shows but one cub, so to fill the field of the coin an image of what appears to be a teddy bear is included.  The Tiger shows two striped tigers romping.

 

The specifications for these coins is the same as those for the Polar Babies, except the date on each coin s 2016.

The Forest Babies

2013 Set

 

In 2013 there was a short set of three coins depicting forest babies.  These coins included the mintage for each coin was ten thousand.  They were also minted in fine silver for the island nation of Tuvalu.
