Precious Metal Bullion Coins

Bullion coins are popular, since there is less danger of the coins losing value.  Numismatic coins are supported only by the numismatic value of the coins.  Bullion is usually priced just above the value of the precious metal content they have.  When selling, expect a value at or just below the precious metal content.  So, there is the tiny margin of difference.  If the metal market goes up, expect more for each coin.

Because bullion appeals to numismatists they are becoming more collectible, and can appreciate in numismatic value. As a result of demand, bullion is being produced in a greater variety.  Some are even being nudged towards numismatic demand by being produced in limited quantities.

It seems that there is currently a great proliferation of bullion being produced.  Silver, and smaller gold and platinum, coins are often most affordable.
