Disney Frozen Coins
Disney Frozen Coins are certain to become a great hit, being significant collectibles that appeal to coin collectors and to collectors of Disney memorabilia. They comprise a five coin set called “Frozen: Magic of the Northern Lights.” These coins have spectacular coloring that mimics the northern lights, and are well worth consideration.
Frozen: Magic of the Northern Lights
These Frozen coins can be purchased in advance or as they come out from the Royal Canadian Mint. They are a product of the New Zealand Mint, and are also offered by the Royal Canadian Mint. The Royal Canadian Mint has a very favorable shipping policy, frequently shipping free for orders over one hundred Canadian dollars, which is much less in United States dollars. The Royal Canadian Mint also offers the coins as a subscription, which assures a collector of being able to obtain the entire set.
The first of the Frozen coins is Elsa, the Snow Queen of Arendelle who is the central character of the story. She is shown in color, and the background field of the coin’s reverse is a beautiful image of the aurora, the northern lights. The special blending from color to color of the aurora is particularly well done. In fact, the background of each coin in the series is similar, making for a fantastic coin set.
The bottom of each coin’s reverse is a silver field with the words Disney and Frozen prominently displayed.
The first coin is expected to be available in July, 2016, at the Royal Canadian Mint.
The second of the Frozen coins will feature a colorized coin of Anna, the younger sister of Elsa. This coin is expected to be available at the Royal Canadian Mint is August, 2016.
The third of the Frozen coins in the series is Olaf, the very popular snowman, and is also in color. This coin is expected to be available in September, 2016.
The fourth iof the Frozen coins in the series features Kristoff, the young boy, and the reindeer Sven, in color. It is expected to be available in October, 2016.
The fifth of the Frozen coins features both Elsa and her sister Anna in color. This coin will conclude the series when available in November, 2016.

The individual coins are packaged in storybook style packaging. Special packaging is normal for the New Zealand Mint, which has had some really interesting packaging for coins in the past.
The coins are 0.999 fine silver, and come with a proof finish. Mintage for each coin is set at ten thousand pieces. The coins are accompanied by a serialized Certificate of Authenticity.
Each coin has a denomination of two dollars, and are minted for the small island nation of Niue.
2014 Disney Coins
This is the third consecutive year in which Disney silver coins have been produced by the New Zealand Mint, excluding Star Wars coins. In 2014 popular Disney characters including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Pluto, and Goofy comprised a beautiful set.
2015 Disney Coins
In 2015 a set of Disney Princess coins were produced. These found their way to both the Perth Mint in Australia and the Royal Canadian Mint. So, it is not impossible that the Perth Mint might soon follow with availability of these coins. While this is just speculation, previous coins remain available at both the Perth Mint and the Royal Canadian Mint.
Will There Be Gold Coins?
Well, in 2014 and in 2015 Disney coins were minted in one-fourth ounce of pure gold. These have sometimes trailed the silver coins, so there is hope that they may still be forthcoming.
